WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Kemba Walker show continued with 33 points, five rebounds and four assists, and Connecticut continued its remarkable postseason run with a 69-58 victory Saturday against Cincinnati to advance to the Sweet 16 for the sixth time since 2002.

The third-seeded Huskies (28-9) ran through the Big East tournament last week with five wins in five days, and they have shown no sign of letting up in pushing their winning streak to seven games with two impressive wins in the NCAA tournament.

Jeremy Lamb added 14 points and six rebounds, and Jamal Coombs-McDaniel scored 10 points off the bench for the Huskies, who will face San Diego State in the West Regional semifinals in Anaheim, Calif., on Thursday.

Walker has averaged 25.9 points during the winning streak, and he helped the Huskies pull away Saturday with a key 3-pointer down the stretch and a steal which led to a Roscoe Smith dunk that made it 60-52 with 1:22 left.

Walker was also 14 for 14 from the foul line.

The sixth-seeded Bearcats (26-9) led by as many as eight early, but the Huskies regained the lead with a 13-3 run and pushed the margin to 36-28 by halftime.

Cincinnati opened the second half on an 11-2 run to take the lead briefly, but Walker put Connecticut ahead for good with a pair of free throws with 11:28 left.

Rashad Bishop scored 22 points, and Yancy Gates had 11 points and six rebounds for the Bearcats.
