Dayton 78, Ole Miss 74: Jordan Sibert scored 20 points and Dyshawn Pierre collected 17 points and six rebounds as the Flyers withstood a late rally by the visiting Rebels.

Kendall Pollard had 12 points and six rebounds while Kyle Davis added 11 points and seven boards for Dayton (10-2), which won for the ninth time in its last 11 games against SEC opponents. Darrell Davis chipped in nine points on three 3-pointers as the Flyers won their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Jarvis Summers led Ole Miss (8-4) with 20 points, including four 3-pointers, while M.J. Rhett registered 12 points and nine rebounds. Ladarius White added 14 points off the bench for the Rebels, who remained winless in six all-time meetings against Dayton despite outrebounding the Flyers 44-33.

The Flyers shot 6-of-9 from 3-point range in the opening period and led 41-32 at the break. Summers drained two straight 3-pointers to cut the deficit to 55-47 with just under 11 minutes left, but the Flyers pushed the lead to 10 points three minutes later on Sibert’s two free throws.

White converted three straight free throws to cut the lead to 68-60 with 4:17 left before Sibert answered with his second 3-pointer. Ole Miss used a 12-2 run to pull within 77-74 on White’s 3-pointer with 15.5 seconds left, but Pierre converted one of two free throws to help Dayton close its nonconference schedule on a winning note.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ole Miss, which didn’t attempt a single free throw in the first half, finished 10-of-12 from the foul line compared to 20-of-31 for Dayton. … The Flyers improved to 47-12 at home under coach Archie Miller. … Ole Miss G Stefan Moody, who came in averaging 18.2 points over his previous six games, was held to six points on 2-of-11 shooting.
