Missouri led from wire-to-wire after freshman Namon Wright knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers to open the game, but the Tigers squandered most of a 19-point advantage. The Tigers seemingly weathered the storm when Wes Clark's jumper made it 70-58 with 4:27 left, but Eddy scored eight straight points during an 11-0 run as Elon closed the gap to one before Missouri came up with a couple of defensive stops and sealed it at the line.

The Tigers dominated the first half, shooting 59.1 percent while holding the Phoenix to 24.2 percent and allowing only three field goals over the final nine minutes of the half to take a 46-27 lead into the break. Elon flipped the script in the second half, as Samson and Eddy heated up from outside and led the comeback.
