PJ Fuller came off the bench to hit a quick trio of 3-pointers, turning a first-half deficit into a lead and Washington never again trailed on its way to a 77-74 win over George Mason Monday night in the Crossover Classic in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Arizona transfer Terrell Brown had 23 points, eight rebounds and four steals for Washington (3-2). Brown scored 11 of his points in the final five minutes, including three straight jumpers to turn a two-point lead into a 68-60 edge. He also made a key 3-point play with 1:30 left.

Josh Oduro had 21 points and nine rebounds for George Mason (4-2). Devon Cooper added 21 points, hitting a key 3-pointer with 42 seconds left that gave the Patriots hope. Davonte Gaines scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

The Huskies had missed 13 of their last 14 shots from beyond the arc in an overtime loss to Wyoming on Friday night. But three nights later, they solved their shooting woes as Fuller needed just 4:16 to supply his trio of 3-pointers in the first half.

Fuller also had a spurt in the second half, scoring six points in a span of three possessions to keep the Huskies in command. Fuller finished with 21 points, hitting 4 of 4 free throws in the final 19 seconds.

Washington never trailed in the second half but George Mason stayed close throughout.

Oduro kept George Mason in the game in the first half when he was the only Patriot to score from the floor in a span of 14:54.

Washington went on a nine-point run late in the first half. Daejon Davis triggered it with a 3-pointer, then the Huskies scored on three straight fastbreaks. Brown got a rebound and streaked the length of the floor for a layup. Brown then fed Emmitt Matthews and Davis for dunks as Washington took its biggest lead, 29-20.

Early in the second half, Cooper and Jamal Hartwell hit 3-pointers as George Mason quickly erased an eight-point deficit.

George Mason will play Nevada (1-4) on Tuesday night in the three-day round robin event, while Washington will face host South Dakota State (5-1).
