A hot-shooting first half led 13th-ranked Oregon to an 86-63 win over SMU on Friday night in Eugene, Ore.

Eric Williams Jr. scored 19 points while Will Richardson and Jacob Young added 18 points each for the Ducks, who were never threatened throughout the game.

Oregon (2-0) scored 22 points off 16 SMU turnovers and outrebounded the Mustangs 39-27. The Ducks had a huge edge in points in the paint, 48-20.

Rivaldo Soares came off the Oregon bench for 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds in 28 minutes.

Emmanuel Bandoumel led SMU (1-1) with 14 points, hitting four 3-pointers. SMU made just 37.7 percent of its shots for the game.

Oregon jumped out to a 27-8 lead, with Young scoring the team's first six points. The Ducks led by as many as 20 points late in the first half.

It was 40-20 on a Young layup with 6:29 to play, but SMU responded with an 8-0 run led by Kendric Davis' five points. A pair of 3-pointers and two free throws got SMU within 12.

The Mustangs were never able to get any closer before halftime, as Richardson hit two treys sandwiching a nifty driving layup in which he leaped between two defenders to get to the rim. Oregon led 50-35 at halftime, having shot 63.3 percent, including 7 of 12 (58.3 percent) from 3-point range.

Richardson had 13 points and Young 12 in the first half.

It was more of the same in the second half, with the Ducks scoring the first eight points. Soon after, a Williams layup at the 16:15 mark put the Ducks up 62-39.

SMU trailed by 20 with 6:07 to play before two Williams free throws and a Young layup made it 80-56. For good measure, Williams dunked in transition for an 82-59 lead with two minutes left.
