DeMarr Langford scored 16 of his game-high 20 points in the first half as Boston College routed in-state foe Holy Cross 85-55 in a nonconference contest on Friday night in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
T.J. Bickerstaff had 15 points and seven rebounds, Jaeden Zackery scored 13 and Makai Ashton-Langford added 12 for Boston College (2-0). The Eagles opened their season with a 73-57 win over Dartmouth in the debut for first-year coach Earl Grant on Tuesday.
Quinten Post chipped in 10 points off the bench for the Eagles, who shot a blistering 59.6 percent (34-of-57) from the floor.
Kyrell Luc finished with 18 points to pace the Crusaders. Malcolm Townsel added 15 points and Michael Rabinovich contributed 11 points and seven boards off the bench for Holy Cross (1-1), which had routed Regis by 47 points in a season-opening 98-51 thumping on Tuesday.
Holy Cross lost despite making 46.2 percent (24 of 52) of its field goals.
Despite leading the all-time series 58-55, the Crusaders have lost 18 of their last 20 meetings with the Eagles dating back to 1991.
Boston College scored the game's first seven points and opened the night on a 13-2 run following Bickerstaff's dunk at 16:21 of the opening period.
Bo Montgomery's 3-pointer brought Holy Cross within 13 at 30-17 at the 9:10 mark. BC closed out the half on a 19-10 push to take a 49-27 halftime lead.
The Eagles led by as many as 37 while outscoring the Crusaders 36-28 in the second half.
The matchup was a regional-round campus game in the eight-team Sunshine Slam tournament that takes place on Nov. 20-21 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Boston College hosts Fairfield in its next game on Sunday afternoon. Holy Cross visits Quinnipiac on Monday night.
