Slowed by a three-week COVID-19 stoppage and left wobbly by it first loss of the season, Baylor might have had reason for some self-doubt when a week of makeup games began.

No reason for that anymore, especially after one of the 3rd-ranked Bears' most impressive performances of the season.

With MaCio Teague knocking down a Big 12 Conference-record 10 3-pointers, Baylor stormed past 18th-ranked Texas Tech 88-73 in Waco to cap the regular season with an exclamation-point victory.

Teague torched the defensive-minded Red Raiders (17-9, 9-8 Big 12) for 35 points, hitting 11-of-16 field-goal attempts including 10-of-12 from outside the arc. He did most of his damage after halftime with 26 points and seven 3s to help Baylor (21-1, 13-1 Big 12) turn a 34-32 halftime lead into a 22-point bulge late before Texas Tech shaved a few points off the difference.

Jared Butler and Davion Mitchell also had big days for the Bears with 18 points and 17 points, respectively, while Mark Vital scored 10 and snared 15 rebounds in his final home game.

Kyler Edwards led the Red Raiders with 18 points, 13 in the first half in which Texas Tech overcame early 10-0 and 16-3 deficits. Kevin McCullar and Terrence Shannon Jr. each added 11 points.

Texas Tech pulled within 65-57 with 7:03 to go on Marcus Santos-Silva's shot from the lane, but Butler reignited the Bears with a 3-pointer on the next possession.

Baylor continued to pick apart one of the Big 12's best defenses and finished the second half shooting 53.3 percent (16 of 30) and 10 of 17 from 3-point territory.

The Bears also controlled the game on the glass in the second half, claiming a 25-11 edge. Texas Tech connected on 50 percent from the field after halftime (16 of 32) but rarely got second looks.

The Bears had to work to hold onto the first-half lead despite the torrid start. The Red Raiders fought back with Edwards leading the way by hitting a trio of 3-pointers.
