Isaiah Mobley posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, and No. 20 Southern Cal rode an 18-4 scoring run at the end of the first half to beat Washington 69-54 Thursday in Seattle.
USC (16-3, 10-2 Pac-12) did not make a 3-pointer until after the final media timeout, but dominated the glass with a 41-24 rebounding advantage. Thirteen of the Trojans' rebounds came on the offensive end.
Coupled with an overwhelming defensive performance in which the Trojans held Washington to just 40.7 percent shooting, USC led by double-digits for most of the second half en route to its fifth straight win. The Trojans have won 11 of their past 12.
Evan Mobley, who led all scorers with 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor, also keyed the defensive effort with three blocked shots and contested several more. The Mobley brothers limited the Huskies' looks in the paint, resulting in Washington attempting 22 3-pointers and making just five.
USC attempted just seven 3-pointers on the night.
The Huskies (3-15, 2-11) hung with the conference-leading Trojans for much of the first half behind the shooting of Quade Green. Four of his team-high 16 points came on consecutive jump shots, which Jamal Bey followed with a lay-up to give Washington a four-point lead.
USC took over from that point, erupting for the 18-4 run going into the locker room that kept Washington at bay for the rest of the night.
Balanced scoring complemented the Trojans' stifling defense. Four USC scorers finished in double figures, with Chevez Goodwin posting 11 points and Tahj Eaddy adding 10. A fifth Trojan, Isaiah White, scored nine points.
White also contributed on defense with two steals, matching Isaiah Mobley's total.
Bey finished with 10 points for Washington. Hameir Wright scored nine points before fouling out.
The loss marked Washington's fourth straight. The Huskies have lost 12 of their past 14 games.
