Daivien Williamson scored 16 points and Wake Forest rode solid 3-point shooting for a 66-54 victory against visiting Miami on Saturday afternoon in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Wake Forest (5-7, 2-7 Atlantic Coast Conference), which won for the second time in its last three games, made 13 3-point baskets and 10 2-point baskets.

Reserves Jalen Johnson and Carter Whitt posted 15 and 11 points, respectively, while Isaiah Mucius tallied 13 points.

Williamson and Johnson each made three 3-pointers, with the Demon Deacons attempting 29 shots from long range. They were 10-for-27 on 2-point launches.

Kameron McGusty's 17 points and Isaiah Wong's 14 paced Miami (6-10, 2-9). The Hurricanes didn't receive any points from their bench players and the team shot 1-for-8 on free throws.

Wake Forest has won its last five home games in the Miami series.

This latest outcome came despite no points from Demon Demon Deacons forward Ismael Massoud, who had 31 points in a victory against Pittsburgh a week earlier, and Jonah Antonio, who provided 15 points in the team's only previous ACC triumph.

Ody Oguama had 12 rebounds and Mucius pulled in nine boards as the Demon Deacons held a 39-30 rebounding advantage.

Wake Forest missed its first 10 shots from the field, finally scoring on Williamson's bucket that came courtesy of a goaltending call.

A bit after, a 15-0 run -- with all the points coming on 3-point shots -- for the Demon Deacons gave them a 20-13 lead.

By then, five Wake Forest players had made at least one 3-pointer. That made the Demon Deacons 6-for-12 on 3-pointers and 1-for-10 on 2-pointers.

Williamson, who drained four 3-point shots in the final 3 1/2 minutes of Wednesday night's loss at North Carolina State, hit two more 3s in the opening nine minutes Saturday.

McGusty had 11 of Miami's first 21 points, but Wake Forest led 34-24 at the break.

The Demon Deacons had just 11 turnovers in the game after ballhandling was a major issue in their previous game.
