Sandro Mamukelashvili had 17 points and seven assists and Jared Rhoden added 16 points and eight rebounds as visiting Seton Hall extended its winning streak to four games with a 70-63 victory against Big East rival Marquette on Thursday night at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.

The Pirates held off a late charge from the Golden Eagles after leading by as many as 11 points in the second half.

Marquette's D.J. Carton drilled a deep 3 to tie the game at 61 with 1:53 to go. The Golden Eagles, who led for just 22 seconds, had the chance to pull ahead on their next possession, but Justin Lewis was called for an offensive foul.

Shavar Reynolds answered with a trey with 46 seconds to go -- his lone attempt from long range -- to give Seton Hall (5-3, 2-0 Big East) the lead for good. Reynolds scored the final seven of the final nine points for Seton Hall, including four free throws, to finish with 11 points. Myles Cale also had 11 for the Pirates.

Carton paced Marquette with 16 points, while Theo John (13) and Jamal Cain (12) followed in double figures. The Golden Eagles (5-3, 1-1) won the rebounding battle 38-29, getting 12 boards from Dawson Garcia, but were unable to overcome their 14 turnovers.

Seton Hall distanced itself whenever Marquette drew close. After the Golden Eagles drew to within 46-42 on a John dunk with 12:42 to go, the Pirates responded with a Mamukelashvili trey and a three-point play from Rhoden to stretch the advantage back to double digits just 52 seconds later.

After losing at Rhode Island and Oregon to open a three-game road trip that saw them criss-cross the country twice, the Pirates closed the trip with a come-from-behind overtime win at Penn State on Dec. 6. That started a winning streak that included a lopsided home victory against Wagner and a nine-point win against St. John's in last Friday's conference opener.

Marquette had nine first-half turnovers that led to 10 Seton Hall points, helping the Pirates to a 34-28 lead at the break. Seton Hall shot 42.9 percent (12-for-28) in the first half compared to 40.7 percent (11-for-27) for Marquette.

The Pirates have earned five straight victories against the Golden Eagles, who lead the all-time series 19-12.
