Courtney Ramey scored 14 points and hit the game-winning reverse layup with 20 seconds left as No. 17 Texas outlasted Davidson 78-76 on Monday afternoon in a quarterfinal game at the Camping World Maui Invitational in Asheville, N.C.

The Longhorns will face Indiana on Tuesday in the semifinals of this event, with all eight teams here playing three games in three days. Indiana defeated Providence 79-58 in a later game on Monday.

Texas (2-0) led by four at halftime and never trailed over the final 20 minutes, using its depth to overcome foul trouble for three players and repel the Wildcats (1-1) down the stretch.

Davidson clawed back to tie the game at 76-76 on a hook shot by Luka Brajkovic with about a minute to play, before Ramey's layup put the Longhorns back in front.

After a timeout, Davidson's Sam Mennenga missed two 3-pointers in the final seconds.

Andrew Jones and Kai Jones added 13 points each for the Longhorns, while Jericho Sims hit for 12, Greg Brown scored 11 and Matt Coleman tallied 10. It's the first time Texas had six players in double figures since November 2017.

Mennenga led all scorers with 17 points. Kellan Grady added 14 points, Brajkovic scored 12 and Carter Collins racked up 10 points for Davidson, who will meet Providence next.

The Wildcats hit 10 of their first 13 shots and ran off to a 23-16 advantage at the 10:39 mark of the first half. Texas responded with 10-2 run over the ensuing three minutes to jump in front at 26-25 and continued on to go up by as many as six points before settling for a 43-39 lead at intermission.

Andrew Jones led all scorers in the half with 11 points, with Ramey adding 10 points for the Longhorns.

Grady paced the Wildcats with eight points in the opening half. After its hot start, Davidson made just four of its final 12 shots over the final nine minutes of the half, but still outshot the Longhorns 56 percent to 55.2 percent in the period.
