Chris Lykes and Isaiah Wong each scored 13 points to lead host Miami to a 71-54 win over Wake Forest in an Atlantic Coast Conference game on Saturday afternoon at Coral Gables, Fla.
Wong, a freshman, has reached double-figure scoring in seven straight games after not doing so through his first 18 college games.
Kam McGusty and Dejan Vasiljevic each had 11 points each, and Rodney Miller added a game-high 10 rebounds for the Hurricanes (13-12, 5-10 ACC), who won their second straight game.
Senior guard Brandon Childress scored 15 points to lead Wake Forest (11-14, 4-11), which has not won at Miami since 2007.
Deacons junior guard Chaundee Brown had four points. He had scored at least 20 points in his three previous college games in his home state of Florida.
Miami, which led by as many as 20 points and never trailed, held Wake to 38.9 percent shooting. The Deacons also made just six of 13 free throws.
There were six tie scores in the first 11 minutes before Miami got untracked and led 37-25 at halftime.
The Deacons shot just two free throws in the first half -- their lowest total for a half this season. Wake Forest had averaged 23 foul shots per game.
Miami committed just one turnover, a season low for any first half this season.
Miami was also plus-six on turnovers, plus-six on free throws made and shot four of 11 on 3-pointers. Childress kept the Demon Deacons close in the first half with 11 points, including two of two 3-pointers. His teammates went zero of five on 3-pointers in the first half.
Wake Forest started the second half by missing its first six shots. The Deacons finally made a run to cut their deficit to 47-39 on a Torry Johnson's dunk with 9:11 left.
But Miami followed with two offensive rebounds that led to a McGusty 3-pointer. Wake Forest then missed two layups on the following possession. The Hurricanes cruised from there as the Demon Deacons never got that close again.
