Emmitt Williams posted a double-double and six other LSU players scored in double figures as the host Tigers won their fourth straight game by routing Northwestern State 109-59 in a nonconference contest Sunday afternoon in Baton Rouge, La.

Williams finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Javonte Smart scored 17, Darius Days scored 16, and Trendon Watford and Skylar Mays scored 14 each. James Bishop had 11 and Aundre Hyatt 10 for the Tigers (7-2) in their last game before taking a break for final exams. LSU's next game will be Dec. 18 at home against East Tennessee State.

Chudier Bile had 20 points and was the only double-figure scorer for the Demons (2-6), who used 14 players and were coming off another lopsided loss, 77-51 against SMU.

All of the Tigers' victories during the win streak have been by double figures. They started the streak by beating Rhode Island 96-83 in Jamaica, then won home games against Missouri State (73-58) and New Orleans (90-54).

The Tigers shot 55.6 percent (40 of 72) from the floor, the fourth straight game they have shot better than 50 percent. They had large advantages in rebounding (47-25) and opponent turnovers (21-10).

LSU led by 20 points at halftime, but NSU played it even for the first three minutes of the second half.

Then the Tigers went on a 17-2 run that ended with Williams' layup giving them a 78-43 lead with 13:06 remaining.

The Demons took two early leads and the score was tied four times before Days made two free throws to put the Tigers ahead for good, 21-19.

That started a 10-0 run that ended when Trenton Massner made a 3-pointer for NSU.

LSU scored the next seven points to take a 36-22 lead and kept pulling away.

The Tigers took their biggest first-half lead at 52-26 at the end of a 23-4 run.

The Demons scored the final six points of the half, leaving LSU with a 52-32 halftime lead.
