Texas A&M went on a late 12-0 run to overcome a six-point deficit and stun Alabama 74-68 in a matchup of teams playing for position in the Southeastern Conference race Wednesday night Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Quenton Jackson scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half, including seven in the final minute, to lead the Aggies (13-12, 7-6), who came into the game tied with Alabama for eighth place in the league.

Wendell Mitchell added 18 points and Josh Nebo 14 for the Aggies.

Freshman Jaden Shackelford scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Crimson Tide (14-12, 6-7). He had six 3-pointers but missed a corner-3 with 20 seconds remaining and his team down 68-65.

Kira Lewis Jr. scored 13 of his16 points in the second half for the Tide and John Petty Jr. added 11.

The Aggies fell behind 37-28 just 30 seconds into the second half but climbed back to within 48-46 with 12:20 left and stayed within striking range before taking a 62-61 lead on Emanuel Miller's jumper in the paint with 2:28 remaining.

The Tide went 3 of 9 from the field in the last three minutes while the Aggies hit their last five field-goal attempts.

The Aggies went up 8-0 in the opening minutes, but the Tide caught up at 11-11 and later went on a 12-0 run to take a 30-24 lead with four minutes left in the first half. They led 34-28 at the break with 21 of their 30 field-goal attempts from behind the 3-point arc.

Mitchell kept the Aggies within range with a 13-point first half but also was charged with five turnovers as the Aggies were one short of their per-game average of 15 turnovers at the break. They finished the game with 19, two short of their season high.

The Aggies also were near their season of 5.6 3-pointers per game after going 5 of 9 the first half. They ended 11 of 24 from long range.
