Mac McClung scored 33 points and Omer Yurtseven chipped in 19 points and nine rebounds to lift beleaguered Georgetown past Oklahoma State 81-74 on Wednesday night in Stillwater, Okla.

The Big 12-Big East Challenge game marked the Hoyas' first contest since coach Patrick Ewing announced Monday that starting point guard James Akinjo and key reserve forward Josh LeBlanc were no longer with the program and had entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Multiple media reports connected LeBlanc and teammates to sexual assault allegations, as well as accounts of harassment and burglary.

Oklahoma State suffered its first defeat despite a career-high 29 points from Lindy Waters III, who added six rebounds and six assists. The Cowboys, who opened the season with seven straight victories, also got 20 points from Cam McGriff and 10 from Chris Harris Jr.

Harris, a freshman, started at point guard in place of sophomore leading scorer Isaac Likekele, who missed the game with an illness. Before Wednesday, Oklahoma State had used the same starting lineup -- Likekele, Thomas Dziagwa, Waters, McGriff and Yor Anei -- for 34 successive games.

Terrell Allen added 15 points and five assists for the Hoyas.

A Yertseven dunk put Georgetown ahead by eight with 18:18 remaining, but the Cowboys responded, scoring 21 of the game's next 29 points.

However, McClung continued the game of runs with his long-range prowess, drilling a trio of treys in a 1:48 span to give Georgetown a 61-55 lead with 8:27 to go.

Oklahoma State drew to within four points with 1:28 left but came no closer.

The Hoyas outrebounded the Cowboys 25-7 in the second half and 43-29 for the game. Georgetown snagged 13 offensive boards.

Sparked by 42.4 percent shooting, Georgetown led by as many as nine points in the first half and took a 36-32 lead into the break. McClung and Waters had 15 points apiece in the first 20 minutes.

Georgetown evened the all-time series against Oklahoma State at one game apiece. Wednesday marked the first meeting between the programs since the Cowboys defeated the Hoyas in the 2016 Maui Invitational third-place game.
