Senior forward Anthony Livingston scored 19 points and Texas Tech continued its hot start with a 91-60 rout of Longwood on Wednesday at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas.

The Red Raiders built a big lead in the first half and put away the overmatched Lancers early in the second half.

Zach Smith's one-handed dunk put Texas Tech up 77-46 with seven minutes left. Smith finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds and senior forward Aaron Ross added 14 points.

Texas Tech (11-1) has won eight in a row and improved to 9-0 at home under first-year coach Chris Beard. The Red Raiders dominated the backboards, outrebounding the Lancers 42-18, and shot 55.4 percent from the field. Texas Tech had 24 assists on 36 field goals.

Sophomore forward Chris Shields scored 15 points off the bench to lead Longwood and junior forward Khris Lane finished with 12 points.

Isaac Belton hit a 3-pointer with 14 minutes left in the first half to bring the Lancers within one at 14-13. The Red Raiders took over from there and used a 14-3 run capped by a jumper from Justin Gray to take command.

Texas Tech led 45-23 at halftime. Livingston had 10 points in the first half.

Longwood hurt itself with 10 first-half turnovers and was unable to compete on the glass. Texas Tech, which opens Big 12 play at Iowa State on Dec. 30, outrebounded Longwood 21-8 in the first half.

The Lancers (3-8) have lost five of six. They'll try to bounce back against Campbell on Dec. 29 in their Big South Conference opener.
