The Iowa Hawkeyes ended a four-game losing streak Monday evening with an emphatic 95-68 beating of the Stetson Hatters.

Iowa (4-5) shot the ball well and was in complete control of this contest from the opening tap. The Hawkeyes shot 49 percent from the floor and led by as many as 30 points late in the second half.

Setting the tone for the Hawkeyes were a pair of freshmen that posted career-highs in scoring.

Forward Cordell Pemsl finished with team-highs of 21 points on 9 of 11 shooting and eight rebounds. Guard Isaiah Moss shot 8 of 12 from the floor -- including 5 of 7 from 3-point range -- and finished with 21 points.

Iowa also received a solid performance from its star player, Peter Jok. The senior guard finished with 15 points on just 4 of 13 shooting, but he also posted eight rebounds and a team-high seven assists in the victory.

But perhaps most impressive for the Hawkeyes was their defensive effort, as the 68 points surrendered were the second-fewest allowed in a game this season. Stetson (4-6) started the game missing 16 of its first 20 shots and the Hatters weren't able to recover.

Stetson was led by sophomore guard Leo Goodman, who had 14 points for the Hatters while playing 22 minutes off the bench. Junior reserve guard B.J. Glasford had eight points -- all of which were scored during the first half -- and tallied a team-high eight rebounds.

Stetson has a quick turnaround coming up as it travels to SIU-Edwardsville on Dec. 7. As for Iowa, it will play host to intrastate rival No. 25 Iowa State on Dec. 8, as part of the annual Cy-Hawk Series.
