California won its 22nd consecutive home game by beating Wyoming 71-61 on Friday night in Berkeley, Calif.

Freshman Charlie Moore collected 18 points and six assists for Cal (3-1), which also got 12 points and 10 rebounds from center Ivan Rabb and 14 points from Grant Mullins. Kingsley Okoroh had just two points but blocked five shots.

Justin James came off the bench to hit 3 of 4 3-pointers and score 28 points for Wyoming (3-2), but Cowboys leading scorer James McManamen, who came into the game averaging 17.0 points, was limited to six on 2-of-10 shooting from the field.

Cal led by 12 points at halftime and pushed the margin to 22 on a Sam Singer fast-break layup with 12:10 left in the second half. Wyoming cut the deficit to five on two James free throws with 1:05 left, but Moore hit two foul shots with 41.9 seconds left and Roger Moute a Bidias, who finished with 12 points, hit two foul shots with 28 seconds left to end the Cowboys' hopes.

Cal won despite committing 20 turnovers, but Wyoming made just 37 percent of their shots from the field and just 4 of 23 3-pointers.

Cal shot out to a 23-8 lead and was up 38-26 at halftime. Moore led the Bears in scoring through the first 20 minutes with 12 points, including a technical free throw when a Wyoming player entered the game with a number that was not on the roster and a three-point shot eight seconds before halftime.

James scored 11 first-half points for Wyoming, which shot 29.6 percent before intermission.

Cal again played without Jabari Byrd, who missed his third straight game with a back injury.
