Iowa State opened the second half on a 15-6 run and Georges Niang and Abdel Nader combined for 51 points as the No. 13 Cyclones ran past TCU 92-83 on Saturday night in a Big 12 game at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.

Iowa State was clicking on all cylinders as the nation's No. 18th-ranked offense surpassed its season average of 82.6 points per game with nearly four minutes left.

Niang went 11 of 15 from the field and scored 27 points. Nader finished 8 of 13, including 5 of 8 from beyond the arc for 24 points.

Guard Deonte Burton compiled a double-double for Iowa State with 23 points and 14 rebounds.

Forward JD Miller led TCU with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Malique Trent had 17 points.

Guard Matt Thomas' 3-pointer gave the Cyclones (19-8, 8-6 Big 12) their largest lead of the game at 59-43 with just under 15 minutes to play.

But the Horned Frogs (11-16, 2-12) did not fold and go away quietly. TCU scored nine straight points to pull within seven at 61-54 on Chauncey Collins's 3-pointer.

Niang and Burton tried to ignite a Cyclones surge, but Collins kept the Red Raiders close with another 3 with 8:32 left to make the score 67-60.

The Horned Frogs closed within seven just one more time. The Cyclones had too many weapons as they coasted to the double-digit win.

Iowa State shot 54.2 percent from the field (32 of 59), including 11 of 28 from beyond the arc. The Cyclones also made 17 of 20 free throws.

Iowa State closed the first half with a flurry.

After Miller's layup sliced the Iowa State lead to 37-34, the Cyclones held the Horned Frogs to two points the final 3:45 of the first half and expanded their advantage to eight at 44-36.

Trent paced TCU with 12 first-half points. Nader and Niang led the Cyclones with 16 and 10 points, respectively.
