Louisville 66, Northern Iowa 53: Terry Rozier recorded 25 points, seven assists and five rebounds as the Cardinals advanced to the Sweet 16 for the fourth straight season with an impressive win over the Panthers in the NCAA Tournament round of 32 in Seattle.

Montrezl Harrell had 14 points and six rebounds while Wayne Blackshear and Quentin Snider added 10 points apiece for No. 4 seed Louisville (26-8), which faces eighth-seeded North Carolina State on Friday in Syracuse, N.Y. Northern Iowa, which came in ranked fourth nationally in scoring defense at 54.3 points per game, allowed Louisville to shoot 45.8 percent - including 5-of-11 from 3-point range.

Seth Tuttle led fifth-seeded Northern Iowa (31-4) with 14 points and seven rebounds while Nate Buss had 11 points and Paul Jesperson collected 10 points and six boards. Tuttle, the Missouri Valley Conference player of the year, was limited to 4-of-7 shooting along with four rebounds after leading the Panthers in most every offensive category during the regular season.

Louisville made six of its final eight shots in the first half and took a 36-27 lead into the break after holding Northern Iowa to eight field goals. Rozier, who had 16 points in the opening stanza, scored four straight to extend the lead to 48-36 with just over 13 minutes left as the Cardinals began to take control.

Buss scored six Northern Iowa points during an 8-2 run to cut the deficit to 55-49 with 4:30 left before Louisville answered with an 8-1 run to secure its 21st appearance in the Sweet 16. The Cardinals, who came in shooting 66.3 percent from the foul line, were 17-of-21 from the line and outrebounded the Panthers 30-25.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Northern Iowa G Matt Bohannon, who was listed as questionable before the game due to an injured index finger on his non-shooting hand, scored six points on 2-of-3 shooting. … Louisville coach Rick Pitino improved to 13-3 all-time in his second game of the NCAA Tournament. … Blackshear drilled a 3-pointer midway through the first half to become the 67th 1,000-point scorer in Louisville history.
