No. 1 Syracuse 58, No. 23 Pittsburgh 56: Tyler Ennis hit a pull-up 3-pointer from roughly 35 feet as the buzzer sounded, preserving the visiting Orange's undefeated season in spectacular fashion.

Ennis initially gave Syracuse a one-point lead with two foul shots with 10.8 seconds left and, after two free throws by Pittsburgh with 4.4 seconds to play, the freshman guard raced up the court and pulled up between two defenders from the right wing - well behind the 3-point arc. With the dramatic win, the Orange (24-0, 11-0 ACC) set a school record for consecutive victories despite using only six players due to the absence of center Baye Moussa Keita (knee).

Pittsburgh (20-5, 8-4) dominated short-handed Syracuse on the glass, 35-24, and led by six points with under two minutes to go before losing for the third time in five games. The Panthers' Talib Zanna paced all players with 16 points and 14 rebounds while C.J. Fair led the Orange with 14 points and Ennis registered 13.

After leading by three points at halftime, Pittsburgh extended its advantage to 37-28 on Lamar Patterson's 3-pointer with about 15 minutes remaining, only to watch Syracuse rally to tie it at 45-45 on Trevor Cooney's 3-pointer with just under seven minutes left. Zanna gave the Panthers the lead with his three-point play on the next possession and extended their advantage to 54-48 with about two minutes to go with a layup at the shot-clock buzzer.

Fair promptly answered with a 3-pointer and a jumper to draw the Orange within 54-53 with 52 seconds to play and, after Pitt missed several opportunities on its next possession, Ennis grabbed a loose ball, drove the length of the court and was fouled with 10.8 seconds left, making both free throws. Zanna was then fouled and knocked down a pair from the stripe before Ennis' heroics provided the signature moment of the college basketball season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Zanna led all players with seven points and eight rebounds in the first half as Pittsburgh led 27-24 at the break. ... The Orange surpassed the 23-game winning streak set by the 1916-17 and 1917-18 squads. ... Patterson finished with 14 points for the Panthers while Cooney chipped in 11 for Syracuse.
