Michigan 74, Northwestern 51: Nik Stauskas scored a game-high 18 points as the host Wolverines overpowered the Wildcats to record their fourth straight victory.

Glenn Robinson III showed no ill effects from the ankle injury he suffered against Minnesota by adding 12 points for Michigan (10-4, 2-0 Big Ten), which shot 52.1 percent from the floor. Derrick Walton Jr. netted 11 points while Jordan Morgan and Jon Horford each grabbed eight rebounds for the Wolverines, who made 18-of-22 free throws.

Drew Crawford led the way with 17 points for Northwestern (7-8, 0-2), which has lost six straight games to Michigan. Alex Olah scored 12 points while Sanjay Lumpkin grabbed seven boards for the Wildcats, who shot 38.8 percent from the field.

Michigan got off to a sluggish start before Morgan keyed a 15-5 run that put the Wolverines on top 19-12 with under seven minutes left in the first half. Crawford single-handedly kept Northwestern in the game with 13 points in the opening 20 minutes as the Wildcats trailed 31-24 at the break.

Michigan stretched its lead to 36-24 following a jumper from Robinson before a quick 7-1 spurt by Northwestern trimmed the deficit to six. Stauskas sparked a 12-2 burst that gave the Wolverines a 51-35 lead with 9:18 left and led by as much as 26 as they cruised to their second consecutive conference victory.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Michigan started off 0-of-6 from behind the arc before finishing 6-of-18. … Crawford has scored in double figures in 13 of his last 14 games. … The Wolverines improved to 10-4 against Northwestern under John Beilein.
