No. 22 Pittsburgh 81, DePaul 66: J.J. Moore matched a career high with 21 points on 8-for-8 shooting, including five 3-pointers, as the visiting Panthers won their fourth straight game heading into the Big East tournament.

Tray Woodall went 8-for-11 for 18 points and added a season-high seven rebounds for Pittsburgh (24-7, 12-6 Big East), which shot 71.7 percent from the field and 64.3 percent from deep. The Panthers clinched the No. 4 seed and a double-bye in the Big East tournament.

Brandon Young led DePaul (11-20, 2-16) with 22 points while Worrel Clahar matched a career high with 19. Cleveland Melvin and Jamee Crockett added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Woodall and Steven Adams combined to score the first nine points of the game before Charles McKinney and Crockett hit 3-pointers to key a 13-2 DePaul response. Moore made two 3-pointers as runs of seven and five consecutive points helped propel Pittsburgh to a 46-35 cushion at halftime.

The Blue Demons got as close as 46-39 on two Young free throws with 17:24 to go, but Moore made three 3-pointers in a span of 2:36 and the Panthers pushed their cushion to 65-50 with 10 minutes left. DePaul got no closer than nine from there.

GAME NOTEBOOK
: Moore also scored 21 points against South Florida on Feb. 19, 2012. He had not scored in double figures in his last 10 games. … DePaul recorded just 12 rebounds, six of which were offensive. … The Blue Demons take on Rutgers in the first round of the Big East tournament Tuesday at 9 p.m. in Madison Square Garden.
