Seth Curry scored 20 points and Ryan Kelly had 18 points and nine rebounds to help the Blue Devils knock off the visiting Hokies in Atlantic Coast Conference play.

Mason Plumlee and Quinn Cook added 14 points apiece as Duke (26-4, 13-4 ACC) won for the 10th time in 12 games.

Erick Green scored 25 points and Jarell Eddie added 13 for Virginia Tech (13-17, 4-13). Green entered the contest with a 25-point average – best in the nation – and notched 20 or more for the 27th time this season.

Duke led 38-35 at halftime and opened the second half with a 13-4 run to take a 12-point halftime lead. The Hokies moved within 53-47 on Eddie’s 3-pointer with 12:37 to play before the Blue Devils dominated the rest of the contest, including a string of 18 straight points that pushed the lead to 28 with just over one minute remaining.

Virginia Tech started strong and had an 8-1 lead in the opening two minutes. Duke finally took the lead for the initial time when Curry’s 3-pointer gave the Blue Devils a 25-24 advantage with 6:42 left in the first half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Duke has won the last six meetings and 13 of the past 16. … Curry had five of Duke’s 12 3-pointers and Eddie had three of Virginia Tech’s five. … Kelly is averaging 27 points in two games since returning from a foot injury that sidelined him for nearly two months.
