Boston College 53, Virginia 52: Joe Rahon scored a team-high 15, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 8.2 seconds remaining, as the Eagles edged the visiting Cavaliers.

Rahon made a trio of 3-pointers, including the winner as the Eagles (13-16, 5-11 ACC) recovered from a double-digit deficit. Olivier Hanlan added 13 points and Ryan Anderson contributed eight points and nine rebounds.

Akil Mitchell scored 16 points and Joe Harris 14 for Virginia (20-9, 10-6), which was coming off a win over No. 3 Duke.

Back-to-back 3-pointers by Paul Jesperson and Taylor Barnette staked the Cavaliers to a 43-32 lead at the midpoint of the second half. The Eagles answered with their own 7-0 run but Virginia still led by eight 49-41 going into the final four minutes.

Harris missed a crucial free throw with 20.7 seconds left, leaving Virginia ahead by a slim 52-50 margin. Rahon was fouled on his decisive 3-pointer and missed the subsequent free throw, but the Cavaliers committed a turnover with 0.4 seconds remaining on the ensuing possession.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Virginia was trying to complete a regular-season sweep of Boston College for the first time in five seasons. ... The Eagles had lost three of four and seven of their last 10 coming into the game. ... Mitchell finished two rebounds shy of his 10th double-double of the season.
