No. 3 Duke 79, No. 7 Miami 76:
Ryan Kelly set career highs with 36 points and seven 3-pointers in his first game since Jan. 8 and the Blue Devils edged the visiting Hurricanes.

After Shane Larkin made one of his two free throws with 54 seconds left to pull Miami within 78-76, Seth Curry’s free throw put Duke ahead by three before Larkin’s 3-point shot missed the mark with seven seconds remaining.

Kelly scored 20 points in the first half and picked up where he left off before a foot injury forced him to miss 13 games. Kelly made 10 of his 14 shots from the field and hit two free throws with 4:10 left to give Duke (25-4, 12-4 ACC) its biggest lead of the game at 68-63.

Larkin scored 25 points and Kenny Kadjii recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds for Miami (23-5, 14-2), which trailed by 10 with 1:56 to play after Quinn Cook scored from beyond the arc.

Trey McKinney Jones made a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 78-75 with 1:08 remaining before Duke held on to even the season series after Miami handed the Blue Devils their worst regular-season loss in nearly 30 years with a 90-63 victory on Jan. 23.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kelly’s 36 points are the most by a Duke player since Jon Scheyer scored 36 against Gardner-Webb on Dec. 15, 2009. … Miami, which was looking to clinch its first outright conference title in program history, can still finish first with a win against either Georgia Tech or Clemson in the final week of the regular season. … Cook had 15 points and Mason Plumlee added 12 for Duke, which was outrebounded 40-27.
