No. 9 Kansas 68, No. 14 Oklahoma State 67 (2OT): Naadir Tharpe scored with 16.5 seconds left in double overtime and the visiting Jayhawks snapped the Cowboys’ seven-game winning streak.

Oklahoma State (19-6, 9-4 Big 12) turned the ball over on its final possession, allowing Kansas (22-4, 10-3) to move into a tie for first place with Kansas State. Travis Releford led the Jayhawks with 18 points and Jeff Withey recorded his third straight double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Cowboys freshman Marcus Smart hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 57 with 1:15 to play in regulation, but the teams headed to overtime after his off-balance shot from 12 feet missed at the buzzer.

Oklahoma State’s Phil Forte forced the second overtime when he drained a 3-pointer to tie it at 63 with one minute left. Brown had 20 points for the Cowboys, while Smart was held to 16 points on 2-of-14 shooting.

Kansas freshman guard Ben McLemore, who entered the game as the Big 12’s top scorer at 16.7 points per game, was held scoreless for the first 30 minutes and finished with seven points on 3-of-12 shooting.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oklahoma State’s last three games at Gallagher-Iba Arena have gone to overtime. … Both teams struggled from 3-point range, with Kansas shooting 9.1 percent (1-of-11) and Oklahoma State at 19 percent (4-of-21). … Michael Cobbins tied a career high with 14 boards for Oklahoma State, which was outrebounded 45-37.
