No. 4 Miami 45, Clemson 43: Kenny Kadji scored 12 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 34 seconds remaining, and the visiting Hurricanes escaped with the ACC victory.

Trey McKinney Jones drew a charge on Clemson point guard Rod Hall with 13 seconds left and made one of two free throws with 8.6 seconds remaining before Hall missed a driving layup at the buzzer. Miami (21-3, 12-0 ACC) remains the only team from the power six conferences unbeaten in league play.

Jordan Roper scored a season-high 19 points for the Tigers (13-12, 5-8). The freshman guard shot 8-for-11 from the floor, including 3-for-4 from 3-point range. Devin Booker contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds for Clemson.

Clemson missed 16 of its first 17 field-goal attempts but only trailed 8-2 when it began to heat up and eventually take the lead. Miami took an 18-16 lead into the half, despite producing its lowest halftime point total this season.

The Tigers scored the first seven points of the second half to take a 23-18 lead but Miami ran off six points of its own. Clemson led 42-38 after Roper’s layup with 2:01 left, but didn’t make another field goal the rest of the game and missed seven free throws in the final 10:03.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami is the first team other than Duke or North Carolina to start 12-0 in ACC since Virginia in 1980-81. … Miami leading scorer Durand Scott was held to a season-low three points but grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. … Clemson has lost five conference games by five points or less.
