No 12 Louisville 59, South Florida 41: Russ Smith led the way with 15 points as the visiting Cardinals earned a season sweep against the Bulls.

Gorgui Dieng had 10 rebounds and five blocks for Louisville (21-5, 9-4 Big East), which defeated South Florida 64-38 at home on Jan. 12. Chane Behanan and Wayne Blackshear both scored 12, while Peyton Siva added seven assists for the Cardinals.

Jawanza Poland scored a team-high 11 points off the bench for the Bulls (10-15, 1-12), who lost their eighth straight game. Victor Rudd, the Bulls’ leading scorer, finished with seven points on 3-for-12 shooting.

Louisville went on a 22-3 run midway through the first half, capitalizing on 10 South Florida turnovers in the opening 20 minutes. After the Bulls cut the lead to six early in the second half, the Cardinals put the game out of reach with a 17-3 run.

South Florida shot 5-for-9 from 3-point range in the opening half, but was 0-for-11 after that. Louisville dominated down low, with 32 points in the paint.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rudd didn’t record a basket until the final possession of the first half, draining a 3-pointer with six seconds remaining. He was 1-for-6 from behind the arc. ... Louisville shot 2-for-13 from 3-point range. … Bulls F Kore White had nine rebounds and two blocks, but was 0-for-5 from the floor.
