No. 16 Oklahoma State 84, Oklahoma 79 (OT): Freshman Marcus Smart had a career-high 28 points and seven rebounds to lead the host Cowboys past the Sooners in overtime.

Le’Bryan Nash scored a season-high 26 points to help Oklahoma State (19-5, 9-3 Big 12) extend its win streak to seven games and improve to 13-1 at home. Markel Brown scored 14 points and Phil Forte added 10 off the bench for the Cowboys, who avenged a 77-68 loss to the Sooners on Jan. 12 in Norman.

Romero Osby had 18 points and 15 rebounds, and Sam Grooms scored a career-high 18 points off the bench to lead Oklahoma (16-8, 7-5), which had its two-game win streak snapped and fell to 4-5 on the road. Steven Pledger scored 18 and Je’lon Hornbeak chipped in with 10.

Oklahoma State led by as many as 11 points until Oklahoma took its first lead, 24-23, on Hornbeak’s free throw with 4:26 left before halftime. The Sooners led 35-27 at intermission.

The Sooners led by as many as 11 points in the second half, but Smart made two free throws with 43 seconds left to tie it at 73 and force overtime. Trailing 82-79 in the extra period, Pledger lost the ball to Smart and he was fouled before making two free throws with 17.2 seconds remaining to seal the victory.
