Cleanthony Early logged 16 points and eight rebounds as the host Shockers cruised past the Bears to snap a three-game Missouri Valley Conference losing streak.

Nick Wiggins added 11 points while Malcolm Armstead and Tekele Cotton scored 10 each for Wichita State (20-5, 9-4), which moved into a first-place tie with No. 13 Creighton and Indiana State in the MVC. The Shockers outrebounded Missouri State 47-22 and committed only eight turnovers.

Freshman Marcus Marshall led the Bears (7-18, 5-8) with a career-high 19 points on 3-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Anthony Downing had nine.

Cotton made a 3-pointer 9:58 into regulation to start a 21-7 half-closing run for Wichita State. Early scored nine points during that stretch as the Shockers entered halftime ahead 42-27.

Wiggins made two free throws to cap an 8-0 run and push the Wichita State cushion to 53-30 with 12:39 left. Missouri State got no closer than 21 down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: No Missouri State player recorded more than three rebounds. … Wichita State C Ehimen Orukpe grabbed a career-high 10 boards in 18 minutes. … The Shockers are 22-6 all-time against the Bears in Wichita.
