No. 12 Louisville 68, Rutgers 48: Wayne Blackshear scored a career-high 19 points and the visiting Cardinals dominated the second half en route to their third straight win.

Russ Smith added 14 points for Louisville (19-4, 7-3 Big East), which outscored Rutgers 40-22 in the second half. Peyton Siva had nine points and seven assists while Gorgui Dieng pulled down eight rebounds.

Eli Carter scored 13 points for Rutgers (12-9, 3-7), which dropped its fifth straight. Myles Mack added 12 points for the Scarlet Knights, who shot 32 percent overall, committed 17 turnovers and went 7-of-28 from the field in the second half.

Rutgers fell behind by seven in the opening eight minutes but Carter scored 11 points in the rest of the half and the Scarlet Knights were within 28-26 at halftime.

Rutgers forged a 28-28 tie 41 seconds into the second half on a dunk by Wally Judge but scored just one basket over the next seven-plus minutes as the Cardinals surged ahead with a 23-2 run. Blackshear and Siva started the run by hitting consecutive 3-pointers and the Cardinals took a 51-30 lead on a 3-pointer by Smith with 11:48 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Louisville has won seven straight games over Rutgers - all by double digits. The Cardinals also have won 11 of the last 12 in the series. ... Louisville has had 33 scoring runs of 8-0 or better while its defense has held foes to scoring droughts of three minutes or more 67 times. ... Scarlet Knights G Jerome Seagers did not start after being in the starting lineup in the previous eight games. Seagears scored five points before fouling out.
