LSU 73, No. 18 Missouri 70: Anthony Hickey scored 20 points as host LSU, last in the SEC standings, held on to shock Missouri.

LSU (11-7, 2-5 SEC) led by five points with 38 seconds left, only to see No. 18 Missouri (15-5, 4-3) pull within 72-70 on Phil Pressey’s layup with 14 seconds left. LSU’s Shavon Coleman missed three of four free throws in the final 13 seconds, but a potential game-tying 3-pointer from Pressey was off the mark.

Andre Stringer added 18 points for LSU, including a critical four-point play with 3:02 remaining to give LSU a 65-58 advantage. Johnny O’Bryant III finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Pressey led Missouri with 25 points, but finished 1-for-9 from 3-point range. Missouri shot 37.7 percent from the field. Jabari Brown added 19 points.

LSU used an early 11-0 run to build a 17-6 lead with 13:26 left in the first half. LSU led by as many as 16 points in the first half en route to a 39-26 halftime lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: LSU shot a season-high 55.6 percent from the field. … Missouri leading scorer Laurence Bowers played for the first time in five games, scoring 10 points. Bowers, who averages 16.8 points, has been out with a knee injury.
