No. 3 Michigan 68, Purdue 53: Trey Burke had 15 points and eight assists to lead the host Wolverines past the Boilermakers in Big Ten play.

Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 13 points, Glenn Robinson III had 12 points and nine rebounds and Nik Stauskas added 12 points as Michigan (18-1, 5-1 Big Ten) improved to 12-0 at home.

Terone Johnson scored 14 points to pace Purdue (10-9, 3-3). D.J. Byrd had 11 points and Rapheal Davis added 10 for the Boilermakers, who had a three-game winning streak halted.

Michigan trailed 40-39 before Robinson drained two 3-pointers as part of a 10-0 run that saw the Wolverines take a nine-point lead. Jon Horford’s tip boosted the lead to 53-42 with 9:23 left and Michigan pulled away.

Purdue used an early 10-1 run to take a 16-9 lead less than six minutes into the contest. Michigan whittled away and finally inched ahead at 24-23 on Robinson’s basket with 6:37 left. The Boilermakers recovered to take a 33-32 lead at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The victory was the Wolverines’ third in their last nine games against Purdue. … The Boilermakers shot 38.9 percent from the field and were 7-of-22 from 3-point range. … Hardaway had three of Michigan’s seven 3-pointers.
