Providence 67, Seton Hall 55: Bryce Cotton scored 23 points to lead the visiting Friars to their first Big East victory.

Cotton, the Big East's leading scorer, topped 20 points for the 11th time in 14 games and was efficient in doing so as he shot 8-for-13 from the field. LaDontae Henton added 12 despite shooting 3-for-17 from the field while Vincent Council and Kadeem Batts chipped in 11 apiece for Providence (9-7, 1-3 Big East), which also ended a five-game losing streak.

Fuquan Edwin scored 17 points for the Pirates (12-5, 1-3), who lost starting forward Brandon Mobley to a shoulder injury early in the first half. Haralds Karlis added 11 points and Aaron Cosby had 10 for Seton Hall, which committed 15 of its 17 turnovers in the first half.

The Friars jumped all over the Pirates from the onset, holding Seton Hall to two field goals in the first 10 minutes to race out to a 22-5 lead. Providence had seven first-half steals and forced 12 turnovers in the opening 10 minutes.

The Friars closed out the first half with an 11-3 run and took a commanding 38-22 lead at halftime. Seton Hall chipped away at the lead with a 14-5 run that cut the deficit to 52-44 with 9:25 remaining, but Cotton knocked down consecutive 3-pointers to spark a 10-2 run and Providence was never seriously threatened again.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Seton Hall has committed double-digit turnovers in all but one game this season, and its last three losses have been by a combined 46 points. ... Henton's 13 rebounds were two shy of his career high. ... Providence won despite shooting 36.1 percent from the field and going 18-for-29 from the foul line.
