No. 24 Virginia Commonwealth 72, St. Bonaventure 65: Treveon Graham had 17 points and nine rebounds and the visiting Rams downed the Bonnies in Atlantic 10 play for their 11th consecutive victory.

Troy Daniels scored 10 points and VCU (14-3, 2-0 A-10) shot 52 percent from the field to overcome a porous 15-of-27 effort from the free-throw line.

Demitrius Conger scored 19 points and Chris Johnson and Matthew Wright added 10 apiece for St. Bonaventure (7-8, 0-2), which has lost five straight outings.

The Bonnies never led over the final 30 minutes but were within five with eight minutes left. But VCU used an 8-0 run to take a 66-53 advantage on Rob Brandenberg’s basket with 3:46 remaining.

The Rams took a nine-point first-half lead on Brandenberg’s 3-pointer with 4:36 left. St. Bonaventure answered with eight straight points and trailed just 32-29 at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Rams accumulated just seven steals. They entered the game leading the nation with an average of 13.6. … Conger raised his career point total to 1,002 and became just the third player in school history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists. The others are David Vanterpool (1993-95) and Ahmad Smith (2002-06). … Graham has scored in double digits in 10 straight games.
