Fabyon Harris scored 17 points, making all 10 of his free throws, and Elston Turner added 15 as the host Aggies prevailed in their SEC debut.

Arkansas (9-5, 0-1 SEC) entered ranked sixth nationally in scoring (82.9), but saw its five-game win streak end in a season-worst offensive performance.

Texas A&M (11-3, 1-0) led 29-24 after a methodical half in which it committed just five turnovers, preventing the Razorbacks from speeding the pace. The Aggies opened the second half on a 20-7 surge that put the game out of reach. Kourtney Roberson had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Aggies.

Texas A&M outrebounded Arkansas 51-27 and grabbed 19 offensive boards.

Sophomore guard BJ Young led the Razorbacks with 13 points, giving him 94 over his last five games. But none of his teammates reached double figures as Arkansas shot 42.3 percent (22-of-52).

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Aggies improved to 9-1 at home, while the Razorbacks fell to 0-2 on the road. … Texas A&M is 5-2 in its last seven conference openers. ... The Aggies outscored the Razorbacks 22-4 at the foul line. That enabled Texas A&M to overcome its 36.2 percent shooting (21-of-58).
