Brown 69, Providence 68:
Tucker Halpern hit back-to-back 3-pointers in the final 32 seconds and went 8-for-15 from beyond the arc en route to a season-high 28 points as the Bears stunned the visiting Friars.

LaDontae Henton scored 19 of his career-high 37 points in the final 9:04 to give Providence (8-4) the lead before Halpern and Sean McGonagill got hot down the stretch for Brown. McGonagill cut it to 67-63 with a 3-pointer and Halpern connected from beyond the arc on each of the next two trips, putting the Bears (4-6) ahead with eight seconds left.

McGonagill finished with 13 points and Matt Sullivan scored 12 for Brown, which snapped a three-game slide.

Henton went on his own 10-0 run in the second half, turning a three-point deficit into a 56-49 lead on a 3-pointer with 6:08 left. The Bears got back on the board a minute later but Henton hit 3-pointers on each of the Friars’ next three possessions and Kadeem Batts converted a layup to keep the gap at 67-60 with 1:58 to play.

Batts ended up with 10 points and Vincent Council handed out nine assists but split a pair of free throws with 20 seconds left that would have put the Friars up by three points before Halpern’s final dagger.
