Wake Forest 71, High Point 60:
Chase Fischer hit five 3-pointers en route to 15 points and Travis McKie collected nine points and 10 rebounds as the host Demon Deacons held off the Panthers.

Aaron Roundtree III and Tyler Cavanaugh added 11 points apiece off the bench and C.J. Harris had 10 for Wake Forest (4-4), which forced 17 turnovers to help overcome a 41-29 deficit on the glass.

John Brown scored 18 of his game-high 27 points in the second half and grabbed 10 rebounds for High Point (4-4).

The Panthers were within two points at the half and briefly took the lead, 35-34, on Brown’s jumper 3:26 into the second period. But Fischer responded with a 3-pointer and the Demon Deacons hit four from beyond the arc to key a 14-7 burst that gave them back the lead.

Brown pulled High Point back within a basket with 11:01 left before Wake Forest used a 9-2 run to spread it back out.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Brown went 12-of-22 from the floor but the rest of the Panthers went a combined 12-of-41. … Only two of High Point’s four wins have come against Division I competition. … Wake Forest, which improved to 3-1 at home, will not leave the state of North Carolina again until a trip to Clemson on Jan. 15.
