No. 25 San Diego State 79, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 43: Jamaal Franklin had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Chase Tapley scored 15 points on five 3-pointers as the host Aztecs routed the Golden Lions.

Skylar Spencer chipped in 12 points and Deshawn Stephens added 11 points and 10 rebounds as San Diego State (3-1) won its third consecutive game following a season-opening loss to Syracuse.

DaVon Haynes had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Mitchell Anderson added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (1-3), which shot only 33.3 percent from the field and missed all 11 3-point attempts.

San Diego State started the game a woeful 3-of-17 from the field and the contest was knotted at 6-6 prior to Tapley’s 3-pointer with 11:24 left in the first half. The Aztecs put together a 16-0 run later in the half en route to a 36-14 lead at the break.

An 11-0 run early in the second half was culminated by a Tapley 3-pointer to make it 47-16. The Aztecs led by more than 30 points for most of the second half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: San Diego State’s James Rahon suffered through a 2-for-13 shooting performance and missed all six 3-point attempts. … Arkansas-Pine Bluff was 7-of-17 from the free-throw line. … The Aztecs committed only seven turnovers.
