Colorado 74, Wofford 59: Freshman Josh Scott had 14 points and six rebounds in his first collegiate game as the host Buffaloes took control midway through the first half and were never seriously threatened.

Sophomore guards Askia Booker and Spencer Dinwiddie scored 13 points apiece for the Buffaloes, who made 28 of 36 free throws, including 10 of 11 by the 6-foot-10 Scott. Forward Andre Roberson, a preseason All-Pac-12 selection, finished with only seven points and six rebounds and didn't hit the scoresheet until there was 11:11 left in the game.

Karl Cochran scored 22 points and Spencer Collins added 16 for the Terriers, who got only as close as eight points in the second half on Cochran's 3-pointer 13 seconds into the period. Wofford finished 2-for-2 from the line.

Booker made an immediate impact with nine points as Colorado raced to a 22-10 lead midway through the first half en route to a 34-23 advantage at intermission. The Buffaloes opened the second half with a 17-8 run to stretch the lead to 20 after a pair of free throws by Scott with 14:05 left made it 51-31.

Colorado wore down Wofford with its up-tempo offense played at an altitude of 5,345 feet and held the Terriers to 36.1 percent shooting from the field while blocking six shots.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Colorado plays next in the Charleston Classic against Dayton on Thursday. The field includes No. 18 Baylor, which defeated the Buffaloes 80-63 in the third round of the NCAA Tournament last season. ... Colorado coach Tad Boyle, beginning his third season in Boulder, is 33-4 at home. ... Roberson, who was tied for third in the country with 11.1 rebounds last season and tied for fifth with 20 double-doubles, was 2-for-8 from the field Friday.
