Oregon 96, LSU 76: Devoe Joseph had 25 points and seven assists as the Ducks cruised past the visiting Tigers in the first round of the NIT.

Garrett Sim scored 15 points and Tony Woods added 14 points as third-seeded Oregon (23-9) advanced to host seventh-seeded Iowa in the second round.

Justin Hamilton had 21 points and nine rebounds and Ralston Turner added 14 points for sixth-seeded LSU (18-15).

Oregon broke the game open with a 24-4 run over a six-minute stretch of the first half.

The Ducks trailed 12-8 before rolling off 10 straight points. After LSU scored four of the next six points, Oregon scored 12 straight points with Sim’s 3-pointer making it 32-16 with 9:22 left in the half.

Oregon led 50-33 at halftime and was ahead by double digits the entire second half. The Tigers pulled within 84-74 on a three-point play by Hamilton with 3:35 to play, but Joseph hit a jumper to start a 12-0 run that put the game away.

Carlos Emory and E.J. Singler added 11 points apiece for the Ducks.

Johnny O’Bryant III tallied 12 points, and Andre Stringer added 10 for LSU.

Game Notebook:
The double-figure outing was the second in a row for Woods and his fifth this season … Hamilton scored 20 or more points for the sixth time this season … Joseph has scored in double figures in 25 of the 26 games in which he has played … LSU committed 17 turnovers.
