KENTUCKY 83, VANDERBILT 74: Freshman Anthony Davis scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and the No. 1-ranked Wildcats clinched their 45th Southeastern Conference championship.

Davis was nearly perfect, hitting 10 of 11 from the field and 8 of 9 from the line, as the Wildcats won for the 20th straight time. Kentucky (28-1, 14-0) also got strong performances from point guard Marquis Teague, who had 16 points, six assists and four rebounds, and Terrence Jones, who had 12 points and six rebounds.

Vanderbilt (20-9, 9-5) got 19 points and nine rebounds from Jeffery Taylor and 18 points from John Jenkins. Festus Ezeli had 15 points and six rebounds.

The first half was close, with Kentucky’s biggest lead at 32-24 with 5:06 left. But Vanderbilt got hot and outscored the Wildcats 13-4 to take a 37-36 halftime lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kentucky was 0-for-9 on 3-pointers in the first half and scored 30 of their 36 points in the paint. The Wildcats made only a pair of 3-pointers in the second half and finished with 50 points in the paint . . . Kentucky has won 51 straight home games, the nation’s longest streak . . . Kentucky shot 57.1 percent from the field.
