NO. 7 NORTH CAROLINA 86, NORTH CAROLINA STATE 74: Kendall Marshall scored 22 points and added 13 assists for his first double-double of the season to lead the visiting Tar Heels.

The win makes it nine in the last 10 for North Carolina (24-4, 10-2 ACC), which got double-digit point totals from five players and kept pace with No. 4 Duke and No. 16 Florida State atop the ACC standings. John Henson maintained his double-double average for UNC with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

The Wolf Pack (18-10, 7-6 ACC) have dropped three consecutive games, all to the conference co-leaders.

In a meeting of two of the ACC’s top three offenses, North Carolina took a 46-41 lead into halftime after lead by as much as 14.

After the break, the Wolf Pack maintained a manageable deficit until the Tar Heels went on an 18-7 run at the 11:13 mark to put the game away.

Harrison Barnes added 20 points for UNC. C.J. Leslie paced N.C. State with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Henson’s double-double was his 14th of the season and 33rd of his career … Leslie’s game was his seventh straight with double-digit scoring and his fourth double-double of the season … UNC has recorded 12 straight wins over N.C.
