MIAMI 74, WAKE FOREST 56: Kenny Kadji and Durand Scott each scored 18 points as the Hurricanes broke open a close game in the second half to roll over the visiting Demon Deacons.

Scott had five points to start a 13-0 run that gave Miami (16-9, 7-5 ACC) a 56-42 lead with 12:07 remaining and Wake Forest could not recover.

The Hurricanes, who also got 11 points and six rebounds off the bench from Rion Brown, snapped a two-game losing streak and have won six of eight.

C.J. Harris recorded 14 points to lead Wake Forest (12-15, 3-10), which has dropped seven of its last eight games.

Wake Forest made eight of its first 12 shots from the field to take a 20-16 lead. But Miami battled back to tie it 34-34 at halftime, getting 11 points from Kadji.

The Demon Deacons shot 52 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Wake Forest still leads the all-time series 8-6, but Miami has won five of the last six. … Miami is 11-3 on its home court, the BankUnited Center. … Miami’s Garrius Adams returned after missing the last 11 games with a knee injury and made a pair of 3-pointers. … Miami hoisted up 30 shots from behind the 3-point arc and made 12.
