KENTUCKY 68, VANDERBILT 63: Freshman Anthony Davis had 15 points, eight rebounds and seven blocked shots to help the No. 1 Wildcats win their 17th straight game and remain unbeaten in the Southeastern Conference.

Doron Lamb (16), Terrence Jones (14) and Marquis Teague (13) were also in double figures for Kentucky (25-1, 11-0 SEC). Jones had a team-high nine rebounds.

Vanderbilt (17-8, 6-4), which failed to score in the final 4:07, got 15 points from John Jenkins and 13 points apiece from Brad Tinsley, Festus Ezeli and Jeffery Taylor.

The game was close for much of the first half. Kentucky led 12-11 with 12:19 remaining and went on an 8-0 run that enabled it to pull away. By halftime the lead had been increased to 36-23 as the Wildcats shot 55.2 percent (16 of 29).

Vanderbilt came out and immediately seized the momentum with its stellar outside shooting. The Commodores tied the game 48-48 on Taylor’s 3-pointer with 11:57 remaining and took the lead on a layup by Tinsley with 9:41 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kentucky was 0 for 5 on 3-pointers in the first half and missed its first eight before Darius Miller connected. Vanderbilt hit 8 of 22 3-pointers, with Tinsley and Jenkins each making three. ... Vanderbilt shot 27.6 percent from the floor in the first half and 36.5 for the game.
