CLEMSON 78, WAKE FOREST 58: Tanner Smith’s near-perfect shooting performance led an impressive offensive display as the Tigers ended their 18-game losing streak at Wake Forest's Lawrence Joel Coliseum.

Smith scored 20 points and went 8-for-9 from the field for Clemson (12-12, 4-6 ACC), which had lost its last three games by a total of eight points. The Tigers shot a season-best 58.2 percent in a venue it had not won in since the 1989-1990 season.

Wake Forest (11-14, 2-9) tied its biggest lead of the game at 26-19, but Smith went to work over the final 4:36 of the first half. He scored 10 of the Tigers’ final 16 points before intermission as Clemson ended the half with eight unanswered points.

Smith also scored five of his team’s first 10 points after intermission as the Tigers gradually increased stretched the advantage to as many as 23 points in the second half.

C.J. Harris finished with 18 points to lead the Demon Deacons, who have lost six straight games – all by at least 11 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Smith hit his first eight field-goal attempts, including a pair of 3-pointers from about five feet behind the arc in the first half … Clemson hit nine of its final 10 shots before the break, then hit its first four shots of the second half … Wake Forest went 24-for-29 at the foul line but shot a dismal 2-for-13 from the 3-point line.
