Elston Turner scored 18 of his 23 points in the second half as Texas A&M defeated Oklahoma State, 76-61 in Big 12 play.

Texas A&M (12-8, 3-5 Big 12), which made 58 percent of its field goal attempts (28 of 48), won for the fourth consecutive time in the series at Reed Arena and dropped the Cowboys (10-11, 3-5 Big 12) to 0-4 on the road in conference play.

The Cowboys were down just 35-33 after a field goal by Le’Bryan Nash (13 points), but the Aggies took control after that. Turner scored nine points during a 16-1 run that put Texas A&M up 49-36 with 11:34 to play. With the Cowboys inching closer off a three-point play from Brian Williams to make it a 51-44 game, Daniel Alexander drained a three, Turner added two free throws and David Lobeau and Jordan Green had consecutive lay-ups to put the Aggies up 60-46 with under seven minutes remaining.

Both teams had good stretches shooting in the opening half. Oklahoma State started 10 of 17 from the field and built its largest lead at 23-16 as Markel Brown (team-high 19 points) nailed a 3-pointer at the 9:24 mark. But the Aggies, who made 12 of 21 first-half shots, clawed back and Naji Hibbert’s jumper tied the game at 25. There were three lead changes down the stretch of the half and Texas A&M went to the break with a slim, 30-29 advantage on a pair of Turner free throws.
