Tim Hardaway Jr. broke out of his recent scoring funk with a game-high 19 points as No. 22 Michigan held off host Purdue 66-64 Tuesday at Mackey Arena.

Stu Douglass and Jordan Morgan each finished with 12 points for the Wolverines, who snapped a six-game losing streak at Purdue, winning there for the first time since 2003.

The Wolverines (16-5, 6-2 Big Ten) took a 65-64 lead on Morgan’s dunk with 1:37 left.

The Boilermakers (14-7, 4-4 Big Ten) missed three 3-pointers in the final minute — two by Robbie Hummel and one by Ryne Smith — before Lewis Jackson’s desperation heave at the buzzer caromed off the backboard.

Jackson finished with a team-high 17 points and eight assists and Hummel added 16 for the Boilermakers, who have lost two of their last three at home.

Purdue missed its last six shots and didn’t make a field goal over the final 3:53. As a result, they lost for the second time in four days, following Saturday’s 83-58 loss at Michigan State.

Hardaway Jr., who had scored a combined 28 points in his previous three games, went 8-of-15 from the field to lead the Wolverines, who led 30-28 at halftime.

With 13:41 left in the second half, it looked as if Michigan was going to run away with it. The Wolverines led 44-34 before Purdue responded with a 17-3 run over the next five minutes.

The lead changed hands seven times over the final seven minutes, leading up to Morgan’s dunk. Evan Smotrycz, who finished with 10 points, added a free throw with three seconds left.
