B.J. Young scored 19 points and Julysses Nobles added 17 to help Arkansas to a 69-60 victory over visiting Louisiana State on Saturday.

Mardracus Wade added 15 points for Arkansas (13-4, 2-1 SEC), which hit nine 3-pointers and improved to 13-0 at Bud Walton Arena. Led by former Nolan Richardson assistant Mike Anderson, the Razorbacks are off to their best home start since 1997-98.

Justin Hamilton scored 17 of his 20 points in the second half for LSU (11-6, 1-2). The Tigers were trying to match their win total from each of the last two seasons, but shot just 36 percent. They've lost 16 of their last 18 conference road games.

Arkansas never trailed after taking a 30-29 lead into the locker room. The Razorbacks opened the second half on an 11-4 run, then clung to a small lead the rest of the way.

The Tigers pulled to within four points on several occasions but couldn’t get over the hump. Tigers’ guard Andre Stringer's layup cut the lead to 56-52 with just over six minutes left, but Nobles hit a jumper and Young’s three-point play made it a nine-point game. LSU never threatened after that.

Neither team led by more than three points in a first half that featured eight lead changes. Arkansas took a slim 30-29 halftime lead after Young hit one of a pair of free throws with less than a second left.
